Anakam.CGW Credentialing Gateway was designed such that an enterprise could integrate not only the identity of the individual with whom they are doing business electronically, but also the professional credentials – for example, medical or legal degrees, credentials such as teaching or law enforcement, or certifications for IT or accounting. This allows an organization to appropriately allow access to specific portals or data based on the credentials of the user. It is a query-response system that enhances the identity proofing and registration process by providing the ability to query a professional credential data source trusted by the enterprise. When the credentialing repository responds, the results may be stored such that they can be reused as part of the business process and logic for which the authentication was completed.
Customized Query
Anakam.CGW is customized to query a professional credential repository with which you have already established a trusted relationship – either internal or external to the enterprise. The query typically occurs after the person has completed the identity registration transaction. Once the identity has been confirmed, the professional credentials can be queried specific to that identity.
Flexible and Dynamic
The Anakam.CGW solution is offered as a Web service with the Anakam Identity Services platform so that professional credential retrieval and verification can be conducted coincident with Anakam.IDP and registration for two-factor credentials. As a Web service, Anakam.CGW is flexible and dynamic and can be called at numerous points throughout the identity lifecycle or business workflow as required by your enterprise.
A: Anakam Credentialing Gateway can query both internal and external repositories. Access to an internal credential repository is based on either the customer maintaining their own repository, or based on the allowance of periodic importation of such a repository from an external source.
Q: Does Anakam Credentialing Gateway only query at initial registration, or can it be configured to routinely query to verify non-expiration or non-revocation?A: Anakam Credentialing Gateway can be configured to routinely query to verify non-expiration or non-revocation.
Q: Does Anakam provide professional credential repositories?A: Anakam does not provide professional credential repositories. Instead, Anakam provides an integrated Web service to data stores at professional organizations that manage and maintain these repositories.
Q: What happens if the professional credentials are not up-to-date or the identity does not have professional credentials associated with it?A: This situation may occur when credentials are new, which would be more of an issue with internally-imported credentials. When such an issue occurs, the user will be referred to the Help Desk who will have the ability to make a telephonic query for such information.
